Being a bank hugger since the Ark, I've had boats of all types do all kinds of unfriendly to down right a$$hole things and I've seen some very considerate boats too. What I really want to know is if there is a school that teaches some DB operator's their rowing technique? I've seen more sideways, backwards and crash to pass drift boaters this year then ever. Some of the guys that anchor in the fishing hole seem to be just trying to get both oars in the water.
Might be a good sideline for guides. You know, teaching people how to run their boats, DB & sleds.
The Bass guys have been trying for boat operator licensing (power only) for a long time and I support having required education for safety if nothing else. I don't like the idea that a 10 year old can drive a 250 Merc. on a 21 ft. Bass boat legally in many places.

Hmmm.... Is it just me, or do we hear/see reports of more driftboat accidents than we do sled accidents.

" Hmmm.... Is it just me, or do we hear/see reports of more driftboat accidents than we do sled accidents."

Now AuntyM, You shouldn't be using any truthful statements in this discussion! Just sit back and listen how horrible all of us sled operators drive.

I think we should all be licensed just as they suggested above. Then the rivers will become a perfect world. We all are licensed to drive on the hi-ways and look how safe our roads are! Bill

There are guides that teach sled and driftboat operation. You just have to look for them.

Dave Mullins on the north end is probably the most recommended sled tech instructor. Cost for his course is $500 though(one full day), little steep, but hear its well worth it.
