Excellent Stickboy! Not too many people have heard about the smelt and sturgeon. Around 10 years ago or so, a 14 foot or larger Sturgeon washed ashore in the north end, if I remember correctly.

I have no Idea what all is in there. I do know that during a worlds fair they turned it into noahs ark for fish though.
Two oddballs I know of that havent been mentioned yet are sticklebacks and pirahna. YES PIRAHNA!
Then the ussaul bass, carp, cutthroat, rainbows, various minnows, and dace, sculpins, goldfish, steelhead, sockeye chums, kings, silvers, humpies, perch, blugill, crappie, catfish, pumkinseed sunfish, brown black and yellow bullheads, bullheads, suckers, western brook lampery, shiners,
I would guess at least 38 species.

Officially there are 28 different species. You might be right micropterous that the total is greater with introduced species not accounted for. I hope to make Lake Washington a more frequent destination this year because along with Banks lake, this one of the most underrated lakes in Washington.

OK, the big question, is there Walleye in the lake? Talked to one guy that claims to know of a few Walleye spots, that he didn't want to share.

I've heard that for 20 years and with all the Bass tournaments, etc. that I've fished on Washington, I've never seen or talked to anyone who actually saw one. We do not need Walleye in that lake. If you want big ones, go to the Columbia or Snake Rivers, Pot Holes or Banks Lakes. If your looking for fun and good eating from Lake Washington, try the Walleye's little cousin, the Yellow Perch. There are Perch there over 2 pounds if you know where to catch them. Smaller Perch are all over that lake and they are almost as good eating as Walleye.
