Help me with ID
      #94006 - 01/02/04 08:42 PM

I looked this little guy up on the Washington state Audobon site and could not find out what kind of bird she is. Looks to be in the Oriole or Thrasher family to me.

Anyone know what kind he is?? This the female, male looks identical but with a black band around neck. I have had them in and out of my backyard in groups of 8-12 for the last week. Ground scavengers eating seeds and flipping debris for insects. They're nice little guys...
Thanks.

For sure that is the varied Thrush, which moves into the lowlands during the winter.. it hangs with Robins, it's cousins, and is usually found picking through leaves in search for grubs. It has a very cool, haunting call.
