We have a week long cruise coming up next month in the Carribean.

Looking at the itinerary, our choices are to join the other tourists and shop ( we both refuse! ), get blind drunk while incurring 2nd degree burns in the tropical sun, or go snorkeling. Hmmmmmmmm....kind of a no-brainer, isn't it?
We would like to know if any of you have done the cruise to St. Croix, St. Thomas, Half Moon Cay and Nassau. What did you find that the other 1,500 on board didn't find out about? Can you tell us where to find a reef suitable for snorkeling, yet not shark-infested?

heh heh heh.....is it ridiculous to want to bring fishing gear? I have this twisted image of trolling for dorado or tuna off our veranda....not that we need to LAND it, it would just be a great fish story!
Thanks for any input.....

A great snorkeling spot in that area would have to be "The Baths" off the island of Virgin Gorda. Many ships stop in the port of Great Harbour which is a short distance from the site. In "The Baths" are huge boulders which tropical fish seem to love. There is also a local eagle ray that frequently swims in the area.I would also recommend bringing fishing gear. Good luck.
