Dont' forget to add a small bead above your mainline swivel, just below your slider...it'll help preserve your knot. Marty's got it right on though, try fishing areas where there are people catching...then you'll know they are there...once you get the feel of how a take is then you can branch off to lesser fished waters and find your own "honey holes"....tight lines, keep the ??? coming, it's a good refresher for us, err the seasoned vet's....i'm still in the perfecting my technique mode....can't have a better hobby.
