Woo Hoo! Hittin' the salt saturday for halibut and coho
      06/15/09 05:48 PM

Sometimes things work out for the better....I have been on an "every other Friday" off schedule for what looks like the rest of the year. A buddy has a 26' Pro Line docked at Newport. Mailed out a sign up sheet earlier this year, so I took a few seats out on Fridays.

Well, the boat owner emails me last week and asks if I can switch from this coming Friday to Saturday. I'm glad to get the seat anyhow but the good news is the trip went from halibut only on Friday to Halibut and Coho on Sunday

My buddies want me to run the underwater camera a bit. I dinked around with it some at Drano this year but for the most part I like catching fish more than I like trying to film them. I hope to come home with a decent halibut and a couple of coho. We'll probably run out to the chicken ranch and make it a quick boat limit on the butts before going for some silvers. Going to take the 10'6" Cennan I got in February. Haven't fished it yet as I only put a reel on it last week. I know they'll fish though as I caught a few on those rods in Bob's boat.

Will put up a report and pics....

btw, if anyone has any suggestions for Columbia river steelhead I could sure use some help. Going to load the boat up and fish down near Longview on Friday, hope to get by buddies at least a fish or two. Did a little scouting yesterday and saw some fish caught, but I drew a blank.

regards, aw
